Sabi Island 2006

Coldest Sabi Ever!

Coldest Sabi on Record.  40 degrees at night and 65 for a high.  Sweatpants and Sweatshirts were the norm.  Sun on Saturday helped war things up.  Rained all night on Friday night.  A clown and a strange Gorilla showed up on the Island - must have been some campers up the way.  Water level was low but navigable.  Joe and Kim nominated as the King and Queen for 2006.  First time that Sabi Island was mentioned on the JetSki.com but no additional folks showed up.

Year of the flood!

Started camping on Thursday and water kept coming up.  Tents had to be moved up the Island on Friday.  Water kept coming up.  Sabi Island was under water by Saturday morning.  Everyone had to pick up camp and take off.  We were jet skiing over our original camp sites by noon.   Took a trip up to the dam and it looked like it was wide open.  Made for some fun wave action.  Stand up 550 and 750's no problem making it up to the dam after filling up at the Arena boat launch.  The Sabi King and Queen carried over from 2003 as no vote could be taken.

Nice and warm all weekend.  The inflatable chair saw lots of action.  Mike had the excellent leisure suit.  Sammy's blow up doll saw more action than a porno movie.   Marshal brought the bright orange bubble wrap spandex pants that shocked everyone.  Sabi D showed up again.  Must live on the Island some where.

Gerloff and Norwood surprise everyone when they blow by the island on their skis.  Sammy and Sara voted in as Sabi King and Queen.   Three topless girls drove by on Jet Skis, must have been from the other Island.  Mike brought the nice white couch for comfortable viewing of the fire.  The Minnesota guys showed up and partied like rock stars.  One of them passed out on the side of his ski in the water.  Fellow Sabonaughts helped him to his tent.
